THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD (Jan. 2nd, 2022)
Is. 60, 1-6; Ps. 72; Eph. 3, 2-6; Mt. 2, 1-12
This Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord highlights the universal or the worldwide mission of Jesus.
The psalm we read says it well: “Lord, every nation on earth will adore you;” “All kings shall pay him homage, all nations shall serve Him.” St Paul in the 2nd reading brings forth the same message in different words: “The Gentiles (meaning the non-Jews) are co-heirs, members of the same body, and co-partners in the promise in Christ Jesus through the Gospel.”
It is important to proclaim this teaching in this day and age when widespread prejudices poison international relationships. Christians live in lands where hateful rhetoric resonates all the time in official discourses and public media.
If we believe Jesus to be the Messiah and the Lord of truth, we are challenged to hold a different view and to stand as witnesses of our faith in the radical brotherhood of all human beings.
God wants us to acknowledge our differences and diversities not as obstacles to unity but as a call to complementarity. The Missionaries who travel to foreign nations to announce the Gospel are the pride of the Church. Christ wants reconciliation and unity in the midst of our diversities.
Let’s celebrate this feast not simply as an occasion to give toys to children (which is a good thing) but to reach out to neighbors whom we have so far ignored or held in some degree of contempt and let them know that in Jesus we are all members of the One Family of God.
FETE DE L’EPIPHANIE (OU FÊTE DES ROIS) 2 JANVIER 2022

Nous célébrons aujourd’hui la fête haute en couleur de la visite des trois rois à l’étable de Bethlehem. L’or, l’encens et la myrrhe que ces trois mystérieux personnages offrent à l’Enfant Jésus nous disent déjà que Jésus est ROI (l’or), qu’il est DIEU (l’encens) et qu’il est INCORRUPTIBLE (la myrrhe.) En effet la myrrhe est la poudre utilisée en ces temps-là pour préserver les cadavres de la corruption.
Mais au-delà de ces témoignages de foi très intéressants, un sens plus profond ressort de cette visite et nous émerveille. C’est la reconnaissance de la messianité et de la divinité de Jésus par des non-Juifs, des païens. Jésus est ainsi présenté comme le Seigneur de toutes les nations et de tous les peuples. Sa royauté est universelle, annonce qui provoque en nous une grande joie !
Sur la scène mondiale de tous les temps et aujourd’hui encore, l’humanité tend à se briser en groupes ou en cliques hostiles. Les préjugés de couleurs, de langues et de nationalités empoisonnent les relations humaines et internationales. Les uns se déclarent supérieurs aux autres.
L’Epiphanie proclame qu’il n’y a qu’un seul Dieu, que c’est un Dieu d’amour et que les diversités de toutes sortes ne doivent pas servir de prétextes justifiant les préjugés, les querelles et les guerres entre les humains. En Jésus, Dieu LE Père proclame la FRATERNITÉ UNIVERSELLE de l’HUMANITÉ.
Entre les individus et les peuples, LA LOI D’AMOUR EST LA LOI SUPRÊME ! VIVE JÉSUS LE RÉCONCILIATEUR, LE PRINCE DE LA PAIX ! Que tous ses disciples se dressent dans le monde comme les témoins inébranlables de ce message lumineux et libérateur ! En Jésus, nous sommes tous MEMBRES D’UN SEUL CORPS, HÉRITIERS D’UNE MÊME PROMESSE ! ALLELUIA !

Visite de Monseigneur Pierre André Pierre à la Radio Télé Solidarité
Monseigneur Pierre André Pierre, le directeur exécutif du Centre National de l’Apostolat Haïtien a visité la radio Télé Solidarité le Mercredi 29 Décembre 2021. C’était une autre occasion pour nous à la radio Télé Solidarite de dresser un bilan de l’année 2021qui était dure pour le centre National de l’Apostolat Haïtien avec le départ sur la pointe des pieds du Regretté Evêque Guy A. Sansaricq, le premier Evêque Haïtiano-Américain de la diaspora, Directeur Fondateur du Centre National de l’Apostolat Haïtien.
Dès lors que le Conseil d’Administration du Centre National de l’Apostolat Haïtien a élu Monseigneur Pierre André Pierre, nouveau Directeur du Centre National de l’Apostolat Haïtien, à la place du Regretté Evêque Guy Sansaricq dont il était Assistant-Directeur, il a ouvert ses bras pour travailler avec tout le monde. Ce grand bâtisseur de la foi, était un ami de longue date de Bishop Guy. Il avait milité à ses côtés, prêchant la retraite des Prêtres et animant des Conventions. Au cours de sa longue mission auprès de la Communauté Haïtienne de Washington DC (1997-2003) qu’il a aidée à consolider, il a entre autres particulièrement rapproché la région de Washington/Baltimore de l’Apostolat Haïtien, en les impliquant dans les conventions. Le Mother Lange Guilde qu’il a créé à l’époque a rapproché Baltimore et Washington DC. Ce ralliement est devenu un instrument privilégié de son ministère. Cet homme d’Eglise et de dialogue, d’une grande expérience très variée, éduqué et respectueux, professeur, ancien Recteur de Grand Séminaire et Recteur d’Université, capable de travailler avec tout le monde, était accueilli par Bishop Guy comme la personne douée de qualités indispensables et de capacité de relations humaines nécessaires pour l’aider. Il a fait de lui en juillet 2020 le Vice-Directeur du Centre National de l’Apostolat Haïtien. Il l’a d’ailleurs présenté officiellement comme le fruit de ses prières.
Pour les membres et les amis du Centre National de l’Apostolat Haïtien, nous croyons que le ministère de Monseigneur Pierre André Pierre comme Directeur ou Successeur du regretté Evêque Guy Sansaricq au Centre National de l’Apostolat Haïtien est le fruit des prières de ce dernier. Bishop Guy Sansaricq a prié quotidiennement pour que son remplaçant au Centre soit un prêtre rassembleur, spirituel et un serviteur dans la vigne du Seigneur.
Le Regretté Evêque Guy Sansaricq restera toujours gravé en lettre d’or ou prisonnier dans le cœur de beaucoup d’entre nous. Cet homme paisible, dévoué, laborieux, visionnaire, donné à la prière et au service des pauvres, continuera d’inspirer l’œuvre qu’il a entreprise avec tant d’amour. Comme il le faisait de son vivant, nous sommes certains qu’il continuera à prier pour la bonne marche du Centre National de l’Apostolat Haïtien, particulièrement pour son successeur, notre Directeur Monseigneur Pierre André Pierre. Que le Seigneur exauce ses prières et qu’il nous donne la détermination, l’engagement généreux et surtout la force de l’Esprit Saint pour la collaboration de tous et le succès de cette mission.
À l’aube du Nouvel An, le Personnel du Bulletin Hebdomadaire du Centre National, en communion avec le Peuple de Dieu souhaite beaucoup de santé et du succès à son Directeur Monseigneur André Pierre dans son ministère au Centre National de l’Apostolat Haïtien.

Visit of Monsignor Pierre André Pierre to Radio Tele Solidarite
Monsignor Pierre André Pierre, the executive director of the National Center of the Haitian Apostolate visited the Radio Tele Solidarite station on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. It was another opportunity for us at Radio Tele Solidarite station to have a review of the year 2021 which was hard for the National Center of the Haitian Apostolate. At the center of it: the tiptoe departure of the Regretted Bishop Guy A. Sansaricq, the first Haitian-American Bishop of the diaspora, Founding Father, and Director of the National Center of the Haitian Apostolate.
As soon as the Board of Directors of the National Center for the Haitian Apostolate elected Monsignor Pierre André Pierre, new Director of the National Center for the Haitian Apostolate, in place of the Late Bishop Guy A. Sansaricq, of whom he was Assistant Director, he opened his arms to work with everyone. This great faith builder was a longtime friend of Bishop Guy. He had worked alongside him, preaching on one occasion the retreat of the Priests and animating Conventions. During his long mission to the Haitian Community of Washington DC (1997-2003) which he helped consolidate, he notably brought the Washington / Baltimore region closer to the Haitian Apostolate, by involving them in the conventions. The Mother Lange Guild he created at the time brought Baltimore and Washington DC closer together. This rallying force has become a privileged instrument of his ministry. This man of the Church and of dialogue, with a wide and varied experience, educated and respectful, professor, former Rector of the Major Seminary and Rector of University, able to work with everyone, was welcomed by Bishop Guy as the person endowed with essential qualities and the capacity for human relations necessary to help him. In July 2020, he made him the Vice-Director of the National Center for the Haitian Apostolate. He also officially presented it as the fruit of his prayers.
For the members and friends of the National Center for the Haitian Apostolate, we believe that the ministry of Monsignor Pierre André Pierre as Director or Successor of the late Bishop Guy Sansaricq at the National Center for the Haitian Apostolate is the fruit of the latter’s prayers. Bishop Guy Sansaricq prayed daily for his replacement at the Center to be a unifying, spiritual priest and a servant in the Lord’s vineyard.
The Regretted Bishop Guy Sansaricq will always remain engraved as a letter of gold or a prisoner in the hearts of many of us. This peaceful, devoted, hard-working, visionary man, given to prayer and to the service of the poor, will continue to inspire the work he undertook with so much love. As he did during his lifetime, we are sure that he will continue to pray for the smooth running of the National Center for the Haitian Apostolate, especially for his successor, our Director Monsignor Pierre André Pierre. May the Lord answer his prayers and give us the determination, the generous commitment, and above all the empowerment that comes from the Holy Spirit for the collaboration of all and the success of this mission.

Vœux de la Communauté Haïtienne de Washington DC
Le Personnel de la Radio Télé Solidarité, dans son grand de rencontrer la diaspora Haïtienne pour des vœux de Noël et du Nouvel An, était très heureux d’accueillir Mr Karl Anthony Racine, premier Procureur Général élu de manière indépendante du district de Columbia et Mme Gladys Debrosse Longchamp, l’une des doyennes de la Communauté Haïtienne Métropolitaine de Washington DC, où elle vit depuis plus de 45 ans.
Monseigneur Pierre André Pierre, le nouveau Directeur du Centre National de l’Apostolat Haïtien et ancien Directeur de la pastorale Haïtienne de l’archidiocèse de Washington, était très content d’accueillir sur les antennes de la Radio Télé Solidarité ces 2 amis de la vibrante Communauté Haïtienne de Washington.
Rappelons que Monseigneur Pierre André Pierre était directeur de la Pastorale Haïtienne de l’année 1997 à 2003. Pendant son ministère dans l’archidiocèse de Washington il a fait tout ce qui était en son pouvoir pour mettre ensemble toutes les composantes de la société haïtienne de la région. Ses relations, déjà connues avec le Centre National de l’Apostolat haïtien, au temps où Bishop Guy faisait encore son ministère à l’Eglise du Sacré Cœur de Cambria Heights, ont pris une nouveau tournant qui s’est amplifié au fur et à mesure.
Le Procureur General du district de Columbia, dans ses vœux de Noel et du Nouvel An à la Communauté Haïtienne, a mentionné le nom de sa regrettée Mère Dr Marie Marcelle Buteau Racine, sa maman qui était une collaboratrice de Mgr Andre Pierre dans la Communauté de Washington DC et au sein de l’Académie du Créole Haïtien. La regrettée Dr. Marie Marcelle, Doyenne à l’Université du District of Columbia, était l’une des grandes amies du Centre National de l’Apostolat haïtien dans l’Archidiocèse de Washington et a milité à ses côtés, jusqu’à son dernier souffle.
Quand à Madame Gladys Longchamp, cadre retraité de l’Organisation des Nations-Unies et de la Banque Mondiale, mère de famille qui vit à Washington depuis 46 ans, elle souhaite un Noël de grâces et une Nouvelle Année de Paix et d’amour à la Communauté Haïtienne. Elle a parlé de notre soupe de giraumont qui est devenue selon l’UNESCO un Patrimoine International.

Greetings from the Haitian Community of Washington DC
The Staff of Radio Tele Solidarite, in their great desire to meet the Haitian diaspora for Christmas and New Year greetings, were very happy to welcome Mr. Karl Anthony Racine, the first independently elected Attorney General of the District of Columbia and Ms. Gladys Debrosse Longchamp, one of earliest representatives of the Haitian Metropolitan Community of Washington DC, where she has lived for over 45 years.
Monsignor Pierre André Pierre, the new Director of the National Center for the Haitian Apostolate and former Director of Haitian pastoral care in the Archdiocese of Washington DC, was very happy to welcome on the antennas of Radio Tele Solidarite these two friends of the vibrant Haitian Community of Washington DC.
In time past, Monsignor Pierre André Pierre was director of the Haitian Ministry in the Capital City of Washington, from 1997 to 2003. During his ministry in the Archdiocese of Washington, he did everything in his power to bring together all the components of the Haitian society of the region. His relationship, already known with the National Center for the Haitian Apostolate, at the time when Bishop Guy was still doing his ministry at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Cambria Heights, took a new turn which was amplified over that period.
The Attorney General of the District of Columbia, in his Christmas and New Year greetings to the Haitian Community, mentioned the name of his late Mother Dr. Marie Marcelle Buteau Racine. In fact, Mrs. Racine was a collaborator of Msgr. Pierre in the Community of Washington DC and within the Haitian Creole Academy. The late Dr. Marie Marcelle B. Racine, Dean at the University of the District of Columbia, was one of the great friends of the National Center for the Haitian Apostolate in the Archdiocese of Washington and campaigned alongside it, until her last breath.
As for Mrs. Gladys D. Longchamp, she retired from her long mission at the United Nations Organization and the World Bank in Washington. She is knowledgeable of and very familiar with the Washington DC area. A respected personality, well known among the Haitians of this Community where she has lived for 46 years and which she has served in many different ways. She offers her wishes of a Christmas Season filled reconciliation and a New Year of peace and love to the Haitian community. She spoke about our SOUP JOUMOU (Pumpkin Soup) soup which according to UNESCO has become an International Heritage.

Voeux du Nouvel An du Comité Ad HOC du Gwoup Pitit Manman Wozè et Bilan de l’Année 2021.
Au nom du Comité AD HoC du Gwoup Pitit Manman Wozè je voudrais presenter nos voeux les meilleurs au Reverend Père Geto Jacques, le nouveau Curé de la Paroisse Notre Dame du Rosaire de la Croix-Des-Bouquets, le clergé Paroissial, les different groupes d’action Catholique de la Paroisse Notre Dame du Rosaire , aux distingués membres du Gwoup Pitit Manman Wozè et aux amis de la Communauté Crucienne.
Oui l’Année 2021 a été une année très dure pour l’Humanité avec la Pandemie du COVID 19 qui continue à occuper une grande place dans la presse internationale. Plusieurs milliers de Personnes victimes de ce mal invisible sont deja mortes. Nous exhortons tout le monde a porter son masque , d’eviter des grandes foule , de prendre les vaccins contre ce virus , de laver souvent ses mains et d’observer la distance sociale.
De notre coté aussi nous avons eu des moments difficiles surtout avec le depart ou le grand voyage du Père Guy Chrispin , l’ancien Curé de la paroisse Notre Dame Du rosaire en date du 10 Juin 2021 et celui du Regretté Evêque Guy Sansaricq le 21 Aout 2021. Tous les deux participaient presque regulièrement aux reunions du Gwoup Pitit Manman Wozè.
Nous avons eu aussi des moments de grandes graces et de grande joie . L’une de ces graces c’est la relation fraternelle et tres respectueuse qui existe entre les membres du Comité AD HOC et le desir des membres de notre comité de changer le visage de la Paroisse Notre Dame Du Rosaire de la Croix des Bouquets.
Notre Première campagne de levée de fonds de la saison d’hivers 2021 a été un moment de grâce , de joie et un grand succès. Grâce `a la generosité de certains de nos membres et certains de nos amis nous avons pu collecter $10,410,00 et ce montant a été expédié au regretté Père Guy Chrispin pour le projet du Panneau Solaire de l’Église paroissiale et le prebystère au debut du mois d’Avril 2021. Depuis le debut du mois de Novembre 2021 nous avons lancé une 2ème campagne de levée de fonds pour le projet de la renovation de la toiture de l’eglise Notre Dame du Rosaire de la Croix-des-Bouquets. Nous avons deja collecté $ 22,000 , le cout de la reparation de la toiture est estimé à 144,000,00 donc il nous reste encore beaucoup de chemins à parcourir pour realiser ce projet.
Nous remercions tous les Cruciens et amis qui ont deja envoyé leur contribution à cette 2ème campagne de levée de fonds et nous exhortons tous ceux et celles qui n’ont pas encore envoyé leur contribution de penser à le faire afin de nous permettre de realiser ce projet
Nous sommes capables et nous ne devons jamais oublier notre devise L’union fait la force et nos proverbes Creoles. ‘’Min Anpil chay pa lou’’ et Anpil ti Patat fè chay. New Year’s greetings from the Ad HOC Committee of Gwoup Pitit Manman Wozè and Year in Review 2021.
On behalf of the AD HOC Committee of Gwoup Pitit Manman Wozè, I would like to present our best wishes to Rev. Fr. Geto Jacques, the new Pastor of the Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary of Croix-Des-Bouquets, to the Parish clergy, the various groups of Catholic action, to the distinguished members of the Gwoup Pitit Manman Wozè and to the friends of the Crucian Community.
2021 has been a very hard year for Humanity with the COVID 19 pandemic continuing to occupy a prominent place in the international press. Several thousands of people, victims of this invisible evil are already dead. We urge everyone to wear their masks, avoid large crowds, take vaccines against this virus, wash their hands often and observe social distancing.
On our side also we had difficult moments especially with the passing of Fr Guy Chrispin, the former Pastor of our Community parish of Notre Dame Du Rosaire dated June 10, 2021, and that of the Regret Bishop Guy Sansaricq on August 21, 2021. Both participated almost regularly in the meetings of Gwoup Pitit Manman Wozè.
We also had moments of great graces and great joy. One of these graces is the fraternal and very respectful relationship that exists between the members of the AD HOC Committee, as well as the desire of the different members of our committee to change the face of the Parish of Our Lady rosary of Croix-des-Bouquets.
Our first fundraising campaign of the 2021 winter season was a moment of grace, joy and great success. Thanks to the generosity of some of our members and some of our friends we were able to collect $ 10,400.00. This amount was sent to the late Father Guy Chrispin for the Solar Panel project the church and the rectory needed at the beginning of April 2021. Since the beginning of November 2021, we have launched a second fundraising campaign for the roof renovation project of the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Croix-des-Bouquets. We have already raised $ 22,000, the cost of repairing the roof is estimated at 144,000.00 so we still have a long way to go to complete this project.
We thank all the Crucians and friends who have already sent their contribution to this 2nd fundraising campaign and we urge all those who have not yet sent their contribution to think about doing so in order to allow us to carry out this project.
We are capable and we must never forget our motto Union is strength and our Creole proverbs. “Min Anpil chay pa lou” and “Anpil ti Patat fè chay. ” Together we can carry out this project and finally we ask the Lord to help us make the year 2022 a year of love and unity for the Community of Croix-des-Bouquets. Joyeux 2eme Anniversaire Sr. Marcelle L.Fils-Aimé
Le 5 Janvier 2022 marquera le 2ème anniversaire du retour de Sr Marcelle L. Fils Aimé FDM à la maison du Père. La regrettée Sr Marcelle a exercé son ministère au Centre National de l’Apostolat Haitien et au College Pastoral pendant 10 ans. Arrivée au soir de sa vie Sr Juvenia Joseph FDM l’a remplacée comme Secretaire du Centre National de l’Apostolat haitien et Directrice du Collège Pastoral.. Elle est très contente d’accueillir à la maison du Père son ancien Père Spirituel le Regretté Evêque Guy Sansaricq et on doit ajouter que la regrettée Sr Marcelle etait aussi la première Secretaire du regretté evêque Guy Sansaricq à la paroisse du Sacre Coeur à Cambria Heigh
Sr Marcelle minée par la maladie et la fatigue gardait toujours sa foi en Dieu car elle a bien compris que le chemin de la resurrection passe par le chemin de la souffrance ou le chemin de la Croix. Soeur Marcelle avec son coeur de mère était très sensible aux souffrances des autres et avait un grand amour pour son pays Haïti. Elle était toujours prête à accueillir tout le monde avec un sourire. Elle avait bien compris cette phrase de Antoine de Saint Exupéry (écrivain français, poète et aviateur/ 29 juin 1900 – 31 Juillet 1944) qui, dans une lettre à un otage écrivit: ”Un sourire est souvent l’essentiel. On est payé par un sourire. On est recompensé par un sourire”. Donc il est plus facile de trouver une entente avec un adversaire avec un sourire que de répondre du tac au tac. L’autre point fort chez Soeur Marcelle c’était sa grande sincérité et son grand amour pour les autres. Le grand philosophe, moraliste et théologien français Blaise Pascal (19 Juin 1623 – 19 Août 1662) disait que: “l’amour est un je sais quoi”.
Les amies et amis du Centre National de l’Apostolat Haitien qui ont eu la chance de rencontrer ou de travailler avec Sr Marcelle ont toujours apprécié ses qualités, elle est douée en relations humaines et aimait toujours apprecier toutes choses à leur juste valeur. La regrettée Sr Marcelle avait bien compris cette fameuse phrase de William Feather editeur et auteur Américain (25 Aout 1889-7 Janvier 1981) : ‘’ Beaucoup de gens manquent de bonheur, non pas parce qu’ils ne l’ont jamais trouvé, mais parce qu’ils ont cessé de l’apprécier.’’
Monseigneur Pierre Andre Pierre anniversaire pour addresser quelques mot au peuple de Dieu:
“ Jesus nous demande de ne pas laisser nos coeurs se troubler. La mort n’est pas une chute dans le néant mais la porte d’accès à l’éternité. Le départ d’un ètre aimé vers l’éternité fait couler des larmes. Il est important d’ouvrir nos coeurs à la FOI et accueillir la consolation qui vient de la grace. Notre destinée est éternelle. Malheur à ceux qui l’ignorent et ne vivent que pour la chair et pour le monde present. Heureux ceux-la et celles la qui comme Sr. Marcelle se donnent corps et ame au service du ROYAUME. Leur espérance ne sera pas décue. Sr Marcelle, heureuse es-tu car tu reposes dans la paix.” Alleluia!
Bien sur à la maison du Père , Sr Marcelle continue à prier pour sa famille, sa congrégation, ses amies et amis et le Centre National de l’Apostolat Haitien. Son deuxième anniversaire nous montre combien la vie humaine est très courte et invariablement jonchée de misère. D’ou l’importance pour nous de profiter des bons moments et de prendre du temps pour accomplir de très bonnes actions. Happy Second Anniversary Sr. Marcelle L. Son-Aimé.
January 5, 2022 will be the second anniversary of the return of Sr. Marcelle L. Fils Aimé FDM to the Father’s house. The late Sr. Marcelle ministered at the National Center of the Haitian Apostolate and at the Pastoral College for 10 years. Toward the end of her life Sr. Juvenia Joseph FDM replaced her as Secretary of the National Center of the Haitian Apostolate and Director of the Pastoral College. She was very happy to welcome her spiritual Father The late Bishop Sansaricq at Father’s House
Sr. Marcelle, undermined by illness and fatigue, always kept her faith in God because she understood well that the way to the resurrection goes through the way of suffering or the way of the Cross. Sister Marcelle with her mother’s heart was very sensitive to the sufferings of others and had a great love for her country Haiti. She was always ready to greet everyone with a smile. She understood this sentence from Antoine de Saint Exupéry (French writer, poet and aviator / June 29, 1900 – July 31, 1944) who, in a letter to a hostage wrote: “ A smile is often the essential. One is paid by a smile. We are rewarded with a smile. ” So it’s easier to come to an agreement with an opponent with a smile than to respond with tit for tat. The other strong point with Sister Marcelle was her great sincerity and her great love for others. The great French philosopher, moralist and theologian Blaise Pascal (June 19, 1623 – August 19, 1662) said that: “love is a I know what” meaning “Love always shows us what we must do.”
The friends of the National Center of the Haitian Apostolate who have been fortunate enough to meet or work with Sr Marcelle have always appreciated her qualities. She was gifted with qualities of human relationship and always liked to appreciate all things at their true value. The late Sr. Marcelle understood this famous sentence from William Feather, American editor and author (August 25, 1889 – January 7, 1981): “ Many people lack happiness, not because they have never found it, but because they stopped enjoying it ”
Monsignor Pierre André Pierre takes advantage of this first anniversary to address a few words to the people of God:
“We invariably experience grief at the loss of a loved one yet Jesus tells us “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, Believe in Me too. There are many dwellings in my Father’s House.” Death is not a fall into nothingness but rather a gate to eternity. We are destined to eternal life. Our time on earth is granted us so that we may choose between good and bad, God and Satan. Those who like Sr. Marcelle have believed in Jesus and embraced the Covenant have the assurance of being welcomed in the Father’s Home. We implore God’s mercy for those who remain enslaved to the flesh and to the world. It was not the case for our beloved Sister. On her death anniversary we rejoice that she has reached the place where one needs not the light of the sun or of the moon because Christ Himself is the LIGHT shining forever. She now rests in peace! Alleluia! May we strive to deserve to join her when our own time will come to pass from this world to the next!”
Of course at the Father’s house, Sr Marcelle continues to pray for her family, her congregation, her friends and friends and the National Center of the Haitian Apostolate. Her SECOND anniversary shows us how short and challenging human life is. Hence the importance for us to enjoy the good times without missing to accomplish great deeds. Femme de la Semaine: Huntington: Anne Osias
Dans notre rubrique Femme la Semaine au Bulletin Hebdomadaire du Centre National de l’apostolat Haitien Notre choix s’est porté cette semaine sur Melle Annee Osias, infirmière de formation et l’une des jeunes étoiles de la Communauté Haitienne de Long Island.
Melle Anne est très religieuse et est cathéchiste dans sa paroisse. Elle etait parmi les panelistes de la dernière emission des Jeunes de la Communauté Haitienne de Long Island à la Radio Telé solidarite
Monseigneur Pierre André Pierre felicite Melle Anne en ces mots”
Chère Mlle Anne: Que le Seigneur vous bénisse pour votre amour de Jésus et sa sainte Mère et pour votre dévouement au service de votre paroisse. Vous nous faites comprendre que lorsque l’on découvre Le beauté, la grandeur et la vérité de J’esus, l’on ne peut pas rester les bras croisés. Vous ètes encore jeune. Je ne doute pas que chaque jour davantage, vous grandirez dans la possession des richesses que le Christ prodigue à ses bien-aimés.
Je suis fier de vous et vous bénie au Nom de ce mème Jésus que vous aimez!”

Woman of the Week: Huntington: Miss Anne Osias.
In our section Woman the Week in the Weekly Bulletin of the National Center of the Haitian Apostolate Our Choice fell this week on Miss Annee Osias, nurse by training and one of the young stars of the Haitian Community of Long Island.
Miss Anne is very religious and she is a catechist in her parish. She was also a panelist of the last Talk Show of the Youth of the Haitian Community of Long Island on Radio Telé solidarite.
Mgr. Pierre Andre Pierre congratulates Miss Anne in his words:
Dear Miss Anne: We are happy to congratulate you for this distinction granted you by this bulletin. When a light shines, it attracts people’s attention. So you have been singled out because of your genuine faith in Jesus and also because of your dedication in the service of your parish. I am certain that you will grow in peace and joy as long as your persevere in the path you have chosen. In the Name of Jesus, I impart my blessing upon you. May you experience always the special joy Jesus imparts to his disciples!

Pope Francis calls violence against women an ‘insult to God’ in New Year’s Day Homily
Pope Francis has condemned violence against women as an “insult to God” in his New Year’s Day homily.
His address to the faithful from the Vatican in Rome during Saturday’s mass focused on Mary, the mother of Jesus, as Francis drew inspiration from her delivering her child in a humble manger.
“Mary now finds herself in the dark stable of Bethlehem. Yet that is where she gives God to the world. Others, before the scandal of the manger, might feel deeply troubled. She does not,” Francis preached. “Let us learn from the Mother of God how to have that same attitude: to keep and to ponder […] We hope that everything will be alright and then, like a bolt from the blue, an unexpected problem arises. Our expectations clash painfully with reality.”

He spoke out against violence against women as the homily drew to an end, saying: “And since mothers bestow life, and women ‘keep’ the world, let us all make greater efforts to promote mothers and to protect women. How much violence is directed against women! Enough! To hurt a woman is to insult God, who from a woman took on our humanity.”
Saturday’s mass was the first time since 2019 that the Pope has delivered the New Year’s Day homily, as he missed last year’s address due to sciatica.
The 85-year-old Pontiff was marking what the Vatican calls World Peace Day, on which Popes have delivered addresses since 1968. January 1 is also the Catholic feast day of Mary the Mother of God.
In his Christmas address last week, the Pope reflected on the pandemic, the impact it has had on our social relationships and our recent “tendency to withdraw, to do it all by ourselves, to stop making an effort to encounter others and do things together.”
In the same message, the leader of the Catholic Church told people gathered in St. Peter’s Square that the world had become so used to immense tragedies that “we hardly even notice them anymore.” The pontiff called for an end to conflicts throughout the Middle East and Africa, listing several places including Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, Sudan and Ethiopia.
